Join us as a Phlebotomist / Patient Navigator specializing in imaging, genetic and colon cancer screening. This full-time opportunity has a Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm schedule and is located in Columbia, SC . This position plays a pivotal role in collaborating with our partner and internal clinical team to provide an exceptional patient experience to a diverse patient population in an outpatient setting.
The Phlebotomist / Patient Navigator represents the face of our company to patients at our partner sites who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into precision diagnostics testing (genetic or colon cancer testing).
Responsibilities :
- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
- Genetics education, testing and collection of saliva for high-risk patients that qualify
- Registration and scheduling follow up appointments for genetic testing.
- Interface with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.
- Distribute negative genetic or colon cancer test results to referring physicians.
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.
- Maintains required records and documentation.
- Demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general.
