Top rated specialty medical group in San Diego, CA. has an immediate opening for an experienced Medical Billing Specialist. Position is working all medical billing in a Reproductive Medical Group!

Summary :

Job Title : Medical Billing Specialist

Job Type : Full time, long term

Schedule : Monday-Friday FLEX schedule 7 : 30am to 6 : 30pm

Pay rate : $22-$23 / hour

Location : San Diego, CA (Mission Valley area)

Knowledge and previous experience with Epic Billing software preferred

Duties :

Environment is a business office setting

Business casual attire

Collect, post, and manage account payments

Responsible for submitting claims and following up with insurance companies on unpaid amounts

Communicating with patients and staff to provide a clear understanding of insurance benefits and eligibility, payment options, and patient financial responsibility.

Experienced with third party-billing / coding and payer sources

Familiar with practice management systems

Follow-Up with claims and collections

Ability to review EOB's and ensure the claim was paid in full

Experience with Following up with insurance companies to check on status of claims

Experience reviewing patient demographics and correct updated information, rebill, submit appeals and bill secondary insurance and patient balance

Position Requirements

Minimum of 1 year Medical Billing and Collections

Excellent follow up skills and knowledge of commercial and managed care insurances.

EPIC knowledge as they are transitioning to EPIC

Ability to review EOB's and ensure the claim was paid in full.

Experience with Following up with insurance companies to check on status of claims.

Experience reviewing patient demographics and correct updated information, rebill, submit appeals and bill secondary insurance and patient balance.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Position requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Some patient assistance will be required. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone and other office equipment is also required. Employee must have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.
