Position Summary:
The Director of Production is responsible for the direction, coordination and overall management of all Production areas (Meat, Poultry & Seafood).

Essential Functions:
Each employee is responsible for the food safety and quality of our products.
Strategic planning and development of long range production requirements, including acquisition of new equipment, personnel, and production line design.- Analyze and streamline the production processes in Meat, Poultry and Seafood production areas.
- Responsible for production floor operations in all production areas.
- Ensure product specifications are established and maintained.
- Ensure production goals are met or exceeded.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
- Responsible for ensuring production compliance with HACCP.
- Responsible for safety of employees in production floor operations.
- Responsible for training and administrative support for supervisors and employees.
- Scheduling of production departments.
- Execution of daily Production Plans.
- Responsible for controlling production costs.
- Coordination with merchandising for procurement of raw material for production requirements.
- Inventory management coordination with merchandising for all raw materials.
- In-Plant and Off-Plant Business Customer service/support.
- Responsible for the management of production leaders.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assume other activities or responsibilities as directed from the GM.- To know and understand the company’s safety and health goals and the objectives. Assist the company in achieving these goals by participating in the safety program.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections of your dept and address any safety issues found immediately.
- Train and promote safe work practices and use observations to check on employee’s work habits. Use the company’s disciplinary policy to enforce safe work practices.
- Promote participation in the safety program to all employees.
- To ensure compliance with government compliance issues (such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, USDA and FDA) as directed by management.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills and good problem solving capabilities.
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations and speak at minor functions.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently or within a team environment.
- Advanced knowledge of business software applications.
- Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies.
Equipment / Tools / Technology:
- Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email and internet software applications.
- Radio frequency data communication equipment
- Hand held scanners and barcode reader equipment
