Position Summary:
Receives, logs and issue materials to stockroom, warehouse or designated location.
Essential Functions:
- Checks goods received against bills of lading or purchase orders.
- Checks goods for damage and expiration dates.
- Identify and account for all histamine products (seafood only).
- Sorts, counts and checks received items.
- Maintains required clerical records.
- Operates warehouse equipment as needed to move goods to storage area and place in designated location.
- Identify damaged packaging and/or possible cross contaminated product.
- Perform returns.
- Maintain and rotate cooler and freezer (USDA only).
- Inventory control (USDA only).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
- Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
- Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV)
