At Start Bright, we value teamwork and collaboration. After providing only Speech and Language therapy for the past decade, we now provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services. As a new ABA therapy provider within the Troy area, we are seeking a motivated ON-CALL technician to join our team on an as-needed basis to fill in for our ABA staff's days off and illnesses. Training is provided by our Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), so no experience is required. Starting pay rate depends on experience/education.
This opportunity would be great for a Practicum Student looking to gain hours towards their Master’s program. As a practicum student, you will work directly with our BCBA to gain hours and will have ample opportunities to develop programs and help build the program.
Duties
· Work one-on-one with a child with Autism, providing ABA therapy
· Report to and work directly with BCBA
· Follow and implement programs and interventions set by BCBA
· Work collaboratively with BCBA and speech and language practitioners (SLPs) within the building
· Follow HIPPA guidelines to ensure client confidentiality and privacy
· Provide support and assistance to clients during daily activities, including personal care if needed (e.g., diaper changes, bathroom routines, lunch time routines)
· Collect and record data on client progress and behavior using appropriate data collection methods
· Complete daily notes regarding session with client
Experience
· Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred
· Knowledge of autism and/or ABA therapy is preferred
· Must have at least a high school diploma/GED and be over the age of 18. Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Students welcome to apply.
· Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently
· Strong writing skills and data-taking ability
· Ability to act within the moment and take feedback well
· Willingness to learn and develop skills
· Enjoys playing and working with children between the ages of 2-6
