While still being a member of the electrical & controls assembly team – the wiring tech role would be more active, running cables and bending and installing conduit on the skids from devices to the enclosures, pulling wire and terminating at the devices and enclosures. This role is significantly more mobile and requires a bit more creativity – they would be on their feet essentially all day and unlike panel assembly that is very clearly laid out, the skid team is expected to determine the best routes around the skid to run the various cables & conduit. The schematics will identify which wires would go from point A to point B – but not HOW they should be routed, bundled, etc.
Job Responsibilities [include but are not limited to] :
- Build, fabricate, and assemble control panels. Panel types range from small to medium sized assemblies, some standard and some custom per project.
- Install components, subassemblies, and wiring per schematics and specifications. Position, align, or adjust electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly.
- Hang enclosures onto systems and wire / pipe as needed
- Ability to bend conduit using a hand bender.
- Adjust, repair, or replace wiring or electronic components to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
