What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications and Marketing Specialist position at Haltom City?
Working within the City Manager's Office, this position plays an integral role in helping the city execute its strategic communications and marketing plan to communicate with all stakeholders. The city seeks a well-rounded communications professional with strong communication and writing skills who can use both traditional and creative avenues to communicate and market the city. While most of the communication responsibilities will focus on written communication, this position will serve as the Public Information Officer for many departments.
This position will contribute to creating and maintaining a positive image for Haltom City and will foster citizen engagement by working with all departments on city initiatives, working closely with the Economic Development Director marketing the City to potential developers and businesses.
The successful candidate has the following attributes a) understands the need to attend meetings and events along with some after normal business hours, b) can think on their feet, c) has the ability to multi-task on several projects, and d) is comfortable with public speaking.
Bachelor's degree in mass communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field with a minimum of two years' experience in public affairs, media relations, and/or marketing. Public sector experience preferred.
