What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Economic Development position at Haltom City?
The Economic Development Director is responsible for promoting and managing development and revitalization efforts in Haltom City. The position will plan, manage and implement strategies to attract new businesses, retain existing ones and foster economic growth within the community.
Conduct market research, business recruitment, incentive programs, and collaborate on community development projects.
Respond to development proposals, prepare cost-benefit analyses, recommend financial incentive packages, assist with negotiations and review of agreements, coordinate incentive packages with city, county and other taxing entities.
Provide information and make presentations to city council, civic groups, businesses, individuals and the public on economic development issues, programs, services and plans.
Prepare grant proposals and applications, contracts and other necessary documents as may be required to further economic development goals.
Maintain strong working relationships with city staff, the general public, area businesses, clients, the media and others.
Make policy recommendations to the City Manager and City Council as requested.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in economic development, public or business administration, marketing, or a closely related field.
Three years or more of economic, real estate or community development, or related experience working in a similar capacity.
Local government experience.
Valid Texas driver's license.
Salary : $109,103 - $125,000
