Serve as AWS Platform Architect for large, complex and highly visible IT programs within the federal government, providing technical oversight for mission critical applications.
What You Will Do :
This position will be responsible for maintaining an AWS software environment to include the operations of the servers and AWS configuration, code development and deployment, and version control in a code repository. Specific roles on this project inside an AWS environment include managing : EC2 instances for developing, testing and deploying software including : Databricks; AWS serverless components such as Step functions and Lambda processes; Github code repositories; developing scripts / code in Python for data ingestion / transformation and integrating with both data sources and target visualization services via APIs.
At least 50% of this role will be developing data pipelines to pull datasets from remote APIs, transform them via Python Panda data frames, and storing the data in an RDS database. Familiarity with data models and experience coding in Python are strongly desired
What You Need :
- Bachelors or Master degree in related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10 years of progressive experience with design and implementation and maintainance of distributed applications using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions within AWS. 3 years of specialized experience managing a Data Bricks platform
- Experience building, maintaining and enhancing Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI / CD) pipelines in a DevSecOps, InfraOps, FinOps environment. Experience structuring and documenting the technical environment to optimize cloud costs
- Experience managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, or alternatively extensive knowledge / experience utilizing AWS CloudFormation as a basis for transitioning to Terraform.
- Extensive experience with Python and Bash scripting and Linux-based command line navigation
- Participate in formal Agile methods, practices and ceremonies.
