What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Hamaspik of Rockland County - HCBS Department?
We are seeking passionate and dedicated part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with varying levels of neurodivergent and/or intellectual disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing mentoring assistance and support in daily living activities as well as ensuring the safety and well-being of clients and creating a positive and nurturing environment. DSPs assist individuals in becoming involved and connected within their community, providing tailored support based on their preferences.
This role is located in New Windsor, NY.
Client is a charming and impulsive teen who can get frustrated easily. He benefits from clear directions to complete tasks effectively.
Shifts available:
- Monday-Fridays 3pm-7pm and flexible weekend hours
Skills:
- Mentor and assist clients in their daily living activities
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all clients and staff
- Build positive relationships with clients and staff
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for assisting those in need
- Possesses a friendly disposition with a positive "can do" attitude
- Ability to work independently and consistently exercise good judgment
Qualifications:
- Caregiving experience required
- Experience working with individuals with neurodivergent and/or intellectual disabilities preferred
- Availability to work flexible hours
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
Required: Successful background check and fingerprinting
