Job Summary
Under the supervision of the AVP of the Foster Family Adoption (FFA), the FFA Program Manager (FFAPM) is responsible for supervising FFA supervisor, administrative assistant and other staff assigned as well as initiating and completing Adoptions. Primary duties include supervision of staff as well as conducting initial assessments for adoptive families and children, conducting adoption signings and finalizations including completing PARP documentation. The FFAPM also provides ongoing training, evaluation and monitoring of foster and adoptive parents. This position is responsible for completing all paperwork in accordance with County and agency regulations. The FFAPM has multiple program specific and general duties including recruiting, training, and monitoring services for resource parents as well as developing and implementing program wide initiatives. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of each program, this position ensures that Intensive Services Foster Care (ISFC) and the FFA program follow Department of Social Services (DSS) and Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) regulations.
Essential Functions
Foster Family and Adoptions Responsibilities
- Provide case management and coordination of services as required by contract and ILS Version 7 regulations for safety and health.
- Participate in recruitment of resource parents, including orientation, training of applicants, and preparation of written adoption home studies.
- Regularly update case-related documentation (e.g., quarterly treatment plans, discharge summaries, adoption home studies / family assessments, initial, quarterly, and termination reports) within specified time frames.
- Provide support to foster parents and ensure enforcement of safety and health standards per Title XXII regulations.
- Coordinate and maintain documentation for adoptive placements, finalization, and DSS billing.
- Manage a caseload of foster and / or adoptive children and their families.
- Assess referrals for placement appropriateness.
- Conduct initial and ongoing training, evaluation, and monitoring of foster and adoptive families.
- Facilitate intake assessments and placements of children.
- Collaborate with agency staff to enhance the client's therapeutic milieu experience.
