Essential Performance Responsibilities
This is a ten-month position with membership in the HEA.

Performance of the person holding this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of certified staff. The Director of Media, Assessment and Intervention will formally evaluate the person holding this position.

Qualifications
- Valid Connecticut teaching certificate appropriate to the grade levels
- Minimum Five (5) years of successful teaching experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of research related to best practices in the areas of Literacy and Math interventions
- Evidence of improving academic achievement for students performing below grade level standards through differentiated instruction
- Ability to utilize multiple data points to make informed decisions about strategies necessary to improve student performance
- Knowledge of Connecticut's Framework for Response to Intervention
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Such alternatives or additions to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate
Director of Media, Assessment and Intervention
Job Goal
To improve student performance in Math and Literacy by working collaboratively with all members of the school community to identify areas for student growth, and develop, implement and monitor Scientifically Research-based strategies to improve student learning.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Collects varied assessment data and guides interpretation of the data to identify students in need of intervention and the focus for instruction
- Plans Tier II and III interventions in consultation with the building-based SRBI team
- Uses data to design and implement interventions with measurable outcomes
- Uses district data collection systems to access student data
- Maintains accurate and complete SRBI documentation for students in interventions
- Provides Tier II and III interventions in Literacy and Math
- Supports building-based tutors in their work with students
- Works collaboratively with School-Based SRBI Coordinators to implement a consistent SRBI model throughout the district
- Collaborates with Math and Literacy Specialists
- Collaborates with the Directors of English/Language Arts and Mathematics
- Collaborates with PPS Staff and School Counselors on academic and non-academic interventions
- Serves as contributing member of the district SRBI committee
- Schedules and facilitates SRBI Team meetings
- Communicates with parents or guardians about student progress, as needed
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Media, Assessment and Intervention
