Hamilton, Cherry, Spradlin, & Mandrell is a Certified Public Accounting Firm located in Searcy, AR, founded in 1962. All increases and bonuses are based upon company and individual performance. The standard work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8 – 5. After initial onboarding, a flexible schedule is available. All employees are also eligible for a summer schedule between Memorial Day and Labor Day working 4 or 4.5 days in the office, depending on company workload. All flexible scheduling and summer hours are based on individual and company performance as well.
Position Overview:
This role is essential for ensuring accurate financial records and overall financial success of the company and clients. This position is responsible for maintaining financial transactions, from recording daily transactions to generating financial reports.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping for a variety of business types as assigned. This includes but is not limited to posting transactions of detailed or summarized activity, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, calculating and assisting with payroll tax liabilities both federal and state, and preparation of quarterly and annual payroll tax reports including W-2’s and 1099’s. It also includes preparation of monthly sales tax reports, entering accounts payable invoices to be paid and generating checks and assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation.
Maintaining positive client relationships and providing real-time client support and customer service is also expected for this position. Managing outsourced payroll for clients, including the administration and oversight of the payroll process, is also a key responsibility. This position would be responsible to accomplish all other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: H.S. Diploma required. An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience: Two years of bookkeeping experience required. General ledger accounting experience required. Experience with payroll tax and sales tax preferred. Income tax experience preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong interpersonal skills needed.
Computer Skills: Proficient with MS Office. Experience with QuickBooks is required. Must be able to learn accounting systems and software quickly.
Supervisory: No experience required
Travel: None
Physical Demands: Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
Position Specific Skills: This position requires someone with a very high attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The role must have someone with exceptional time management and prioritization abilities. This position requires strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
