What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Management Summer Assistant position at Hamilton College?
This summer position will provide exposure to project planning and construction management. You will work collaboratively with team members, actively participating in discussions and supporting all aspects of the Project Management Lifecycle.
This is a paid, temporary, non-benefited position for the summer (May-August) with a pay rate of $16.00.
Responsibilities
- Process submittals and gather/distribute information
- Attend project meetings and record meeting minutes
- Assist with the tracking and inspection of material deliveries
- Post RFI's, bulletins, ASI's, etc., to project documents
- Assist in obtaining and/or verifying field information (photos/field measurements)
- Assist in proposal review
- Perform project monitoring of construction activities
- Research existing drawings and files
- Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Project Management team
Qualifications
- College student of good academic standing pursuing studies in Construction Management, Architecture, or related Engineering field
- Junior, Senior, or Graduate students preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be goal-oriented, organized, motivated to learn
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to quickly adapt to varied roles
- Must be able to complete projects with limited supervision.
- Ability to take ownership and ask for help when needed
- Valid drivers licence preferred
- Must be able to work outside in less-than-ideal weather conditions if needed
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project a plus
