JOB SUMMARY :
Hamilton Community Schools invites dedicated counselors to apply for the open position of high school counselor that's available starting in the 2024-2025 school year. This position is 100% in-person.
LOCATION : Hamilton Virtual / Middle School
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
- Prepare required reports on students and activities.
- Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Work with or understanding of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
- Work with or understanding of Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS).
- Work collaboratively with the Work-Based Learning Teacher and district coordinator.
- Have a detailed understanding of adjusting student schedules for both in-person and online learning opportunities.
- Support families and documentation of Work-Based Learning opportunities.
- Support administration of state mandated assessments
- Communicate professionally with academic and career providers.
- Have a detailed understanding of Naviance and its informational structure.

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
