Job Overview:
Hamilton Construction Co. is currently seeking a Journey Level Carpenter – Bridge to join our team in Walla Walla, Washington. This position involves working on the construction of bridges, including forming and pouring footings, walls, columns, and bridge decks. Experience working in BNSF Right of Way is desirable for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Punctuality & Readiness: Arrive on time each day, prepared to work.
- Reliable Transportation: Ensure reliable transportation to and from the jobsite.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to project safety rules and environmental regulations at all times.
- Carpentry Work: Assist in forming and pouring footings, walls, columns, and bridge decks.
- Tool Usage: Utilize standard carpenter hand tools; power tools will be supplied.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with a team to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Work in BNSF Right of Way: Follow the necessary protocols and safety standards when working on the rail site.
Requirements:
- Experience: Strong background in heavy civil construction, including bridge, highway, transit, and rail projects. Experience working in BNSF Right of Way is desirable.
- Carpentry Skills: Extensive experience in forming and pouring footings, walls, columns, and bridge decks.
- Tools: Proficient in using standard carpenter hand tools (power tools will be provided).
- Comfort with Heights: Must be comfortable working at elevated heights and on scaffolding.
- Work Environment: Ability to access all points of a construction site in diverse climates and environments.
- Safety-Sensitive: This position requires compliance with safety protocols, especially given that workers must pass a federal background check for E-Rail Safe certification (required by BNSF).
- Drug Screen: Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen may be required.
- Pre-Employment Screening: A pre-employment screening process may be required.
- Background Check: A background check may be conducted as part of the hiring process.
Wage Information:
This position is a Prevailing Wage. The hourly wage for this role will be in accordance with Washington's prevailing wage rates for the location and project type. The exact wage rate will depend on the specific project and will be disclosed to candidates at the time of application.
