The purpose of this job is to provide support to schools that involves data-related training, analysis, interpretation, visualization, and problem solving to maximize the understanding and use of data in the district.
Responsibilities
- Identify training and development needs within the district.
- Conducts training sessions on school data including use of platforms and use of local and state assessment data.
- Conducts meetings with school administration to regarding assessment data.
- Supports schools in the use and interpretation of state and local assessment data.
- Conceptualizes and writes new reporting in Cognos to support school and district data collection and strategic planning.
- Participates in report writing training in IBM Cognos.
- Stays up to date with current state accountability rules and updates district reporting as necessary.
- Writes research reports on set topics throughout the school year.
- Develops presentation materials around research report topics.
- Facilitate training using techniques that maximize learner participation, comprehension and application of the material.
- Supports the creation and visualization of district instructional focus tool
- Collaborate with school-based and district personnel on data planning and data
- Works collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff.
- Attends work regularly and arrives to work on time.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Acts in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner at all times.
- Creates a customer-focused climate and provides quality services and support to school and other stakeholders.
- Complies with applicable district, state, and federal codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
- Adheres to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee Law.
- Receives, prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, lists, procedures, spreadsheets, or other documents.
- Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; performs basic maintenance of office/computer equipment.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary or as assigned.
Knowledge/Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher required.
- Three (3) years working with educational data and visualization. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
- Active Tennessee Teaching License
- Ability to use a variety of software applications to generate reports.
- Ability to identify and communicate trends in data.
- Ability to analyze data and make corrections to ensure the integrity of the data.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work with a team and complete routine task independently.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
