Responsibilities
- At least 10 years’ experience in working with mild to moderate to severe disabilities in grades 6-12
- At least 5 years’ experience in conflict resolution with special emphasis in system wide programs
- Strong demonstration of knowledge in compliance issues of the IDEA
- Outstanding ability to build strong inclusionary school cultures through leadership in collaboration, IEP, and assessment processes
- Knowledge and experience in the development of compliant IEPs and knowledge of standards
- Direct experience in completing functional behavior assessments and developing Behavior Intervention Plans
- Willingness and ability to understand and work in urban, suburban, and rural school settings, serving diverse populations
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with peers and administrators
- Ability to design and provide teacher training for exceptional education and regular education teachers in a variety of professional development opportunities
- Willingness to pursue professional development and to be trained as needed
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within Hamilton County
- Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
- Training in the Facilitated IEP Process
- Willingness to travel for professional development
- Exhibit a sound knowledge of Easy IEP, Power School, and other technology resources
- Maintains confidentiality
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exhibits excellent attendance and reliability
- Knowledge and experience in designing and implementing postsecondary transition experiences including Project SEARCH, WBL, School Based Enterprise and Transition School to Work
- Experience in administering age-appropriate transition assessments and developing transition plans
- Experience in the manifestation determination process
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in one or more of the following areas - Special Education, Administration/Supervision, Educational/Instructional Leadership
- Knowledge and experience in federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to students with disabilities, knowledge of local, state, and federal complaint resolution procedures
- Minimum ten years’ experience working with students with disabilities
- Knowledge/experience in providing training to parents, special education and regular education staff, and administrators relating to policies/procedures for special education students
- Job requires a high level of organizational skills and ability to multitask. Must be able to work with many different personalities in an effective and professional manner; requires ability to quickly exercise judgement, decisiveness and creativity while acting as liaison for school, DCS and contract agencies
- Must maintain comprehensive and current knowledge of appropriate laws/regulations; maintain awareness of new trends/changes; attend workshops as appropriate

- Conduct ongoing data collection on all IEP goals/objectives as indicated in the wording of each IEP goal, but at minimum 1 data point per goal per week. Place a copy of the data collection in the student’s special education file prior to each quarterly progress report. Use the collected data to complete Progress Monitoring Data Points in EasyIEP and to complete the quarterly progress reports that are sent home to parents/guardians.
- Case managers and service providers will use the EasyIEP Progress Monitoring Wizard to graph at least 3 data points per goal per each nine week grading period. (The only exceptions to using the EasyIEP Progress Monitoring Graphs are Speech Language Personnel, OTs, PTx, and Audiologists who use Stellar Docs for Progress Monitoring. It is understood that service personnel using Stellar Docs will also enter data on quarterly progress reports.)
Compensation
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
