Under close supervision, prepares and presents hot and cold foods for residents of the Detention Center.

Minimum Qualifications
The equivalent of a high school diploma and three (3) months of direct work experience in professional food services as a cook, cook’s assistant, or in a position with closely related responsibilities.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must be eligible to receive a Food Handlers Permit within three (3) months of employment.
Employees must maintain all state and locally-required certifications.
Physical Requirements
Work involves lifting and carrying heavy, bulky pots, pans, crates and cartons of food supplies weighing up to 80 pounds. The work environment also exposes employees to extreme heat and cold as well as potential injury from sharp knives and other kitchen utensils.
Work is located within the Juvenile Detention Center. There is the risk of potential bodily harm and exposure to infectious diseases.
