Description
Under limited supervision, ensures compliance with County construction standards and regulations through inspections of highway and engineering projects, including new subdivision roads, utility installation and repair, sewer cut-in and repair, light construction, and investigates complaints relating to areas of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications
An Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or a directly related discipline plus five (5) years of direct work experience in highway construction and the engineering field; Must have computer experience working in Word and Excel programs. Must have I-pad and software user ability.
A valid driver’s license is required.
OR
Seven (7) years of direct work experience in highway maintenance and construction management, two (2) of which must be in a supervisory or lead capacity role. Must have computer experience working in Word and Excel programs. Must have I-pad and software user ability. A valid driver’s license is required.
Physical Requirements
Work requires limited physical effort involving considerable driving and sitting with intermittent sitting and walking. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust while performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to hot, cold, dry, wet, dusty, muddy, windy, and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently works near moving equipment, mechanical parts, and is frequently exposed to vibrations, jostling and bouncing. The employee may work in high precarious places and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
