REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION):
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration or closely related field from an accredited college or university with coursework in business statistics; AND
- One (1) year of experience in accounting or budgeting which evidences a comprehensive knowledge of regulations & procedures governing fiscal activities.
- OR Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration or closely related field from an accredited college or university with coursework in business statistics; AND
- Three (3) years of experience in accounting or budgeting which evidences a comprehensive knowledge of regulations & procedures governing fiscal activities
- OR High School diploma or GED; AND
- Five (5) years of experience in accounting or budgeting which evidences a comprehensive knowledge of regulations & procedures governing fiscal activities.
- Reconciles expenditures with CFIS reports from ODJFS and makes recommendations for adjustments and/or corrections. Prepares monthly expenditure reports. Prepares other reports as required
- Monitors and projects revenue and expenditures against County appropriations. Monitors and reports expenditures to Section chiefs and/or staff responsible for budgeted OCA
- Monitors expenditures against State Allocations and/or grants.
- Assists in preparing annual County budget.
- Enters and monitors Random Moment Studies (RMS).
- Completes cash draw request for respective funds and enters into CFIS for draw. Monitors cash balances in funds.
- Meets with Section Chiefs and/or other department staff.
- Attends conferences and training.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of: budgeting; bookkeeping; accounting; management; agency policies and procedures*; government structure and process.
- Ability to: define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers; understand manuals and verbal instructions, technical in nature; gather, collate and classify information about data, people or things; handle sensitive inquiries from and contacts with officials and general public.
- Must undergo a background check via the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI). Must have a car, valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency and required auto liability insurance.
