Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification) :
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma or six months' experience in painting maintenance and supervision.
- Demonstrate ability to perform physical labor.
- Possession of a valid Ohio Operator's Permit.
Job Duties (Summary) :

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Paints, varnishes, shellacs, stains, fillers epoxies and urethane.
Sandblasting and water blasting procedures.
Safety precautions to be used with chemicals found in paint and paint removal products.
Surface preparation materials and methods, paint mixing.
Types of rigging used in painting.
Safety precautions critical to the correct removal of asbestos materials. Mix and match paint colors.
Work from scaffolding, ladders, ladder trucks, platform trucks, and bucket trucks.
Follow necessary safety measures when dealing with asbestos and paint preparation chemicals.
Work at heights over 40 feet and up to 60 feet.
Works in confined spaces and underground.
Ability to work outside in cold or heat to perform projects.
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation.
Ability to remain calm in tense situations.
Hearing ability sufficient to hold conversation with other individuals both in person, over a telephone, and on a portable hand held radio.
Speaking ability sufficient to communicate effectively with other individuals in person, over a telephone, and on a portable hand held radio.
Skills in oral and written communication.
Visual ability to read and prepare reports.
Freedom from mental disorders which would interfere with performance of duties described.
Ability to train others in Painting / Staining functions.
Ability to inventory and maintain supplies
Ability to work with little supervision.
Working Conditions
Correctional facility setting and outdoor premises.
Physical Demands
Ability to perform moderate to heavy labor. Ability to transfer up to 50 pounds.
