REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION):
- Associate degree in public administration, business administration, Psychology, Special Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Human Services (including a clinical practicum of at least one year), or a related field from an accredited college or university; AND One (1) year of experience with a DHS (or comparable department)
- OR High School or GED; AND Three (3) years of experience with a DHS (or comparable department) using PC based word processing, spreadsheets or data base applications
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, Psychology, Special Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Human Services (including a clinical practicum of at least one year), or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Two years of experience in public assistance eligibility to include SNAP, TANF and Medicaid
- Conducts in-house quality reviews of assigned cases; gathers data from a number of sources and evaluates accuracy of work products.
- Writes summaries and required reports; answers correspondence and telephone inquiries.
- Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions to receive information of techniques, policies and procedures used during performance of assigned duties.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Attends conferences and training.
- Knowledge of: Public Assistance policy for Medicaid, Food Assistance and Ohio Works First; agency policies and procedures; interviewing.
- Ability to: Deal with many variables and determine specific actions; calculate fractions, decimals & percentages; understand manuals and verbal instructions; gather collate & classify information about data, people or things; maintain accurate records; prepare meaningful, concise, and accurate reports; work alone on most tasks.
- Skill In: PC or mainframe data entry and work processing equipment.
- Must undergo a background check via the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI). Must have a car, valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency and required auto liability insurance.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all direction
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned

- State Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
- State Child/Abuse Neglect Central Registry Check for any state in which the applicant resided within the last five years
- Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification Investigation (BCI)
- FBI
- National Sex Offender Public website (WWW.NSOPW.Gov) Code 5101:2-5-09 must be conducted for each prospective employee
Salary : $21
