As the Security Specialist at Hamilton County, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and security of our county facilities. You will conduct comprehensive security risk assessments, develop and implement policies and training programs, and manage our advanced security systems. Your role includes investigating security incidents, collaborating with law enforcement, and staying ahead of emerging threats to keep our county facilities safe.
Summary of Job Duties:
- Assists the Risk Manager with the management of security in all County buildings, at various locations, 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
- manages security personnel who maintain the building entry/exit process after normal business hours and on weekends and holidays, maintains and updates guard post orders, provides daily reports, etc. in accordance with records retention requirements.
- Manages the access control system for County buildings’ (unless under the control of the County Sheriff) interior and exterior locations.
- Helps prepare, implement, and maintain building security policies and procedures for all County buildings
- Holds daily meetings with contract security supervisor; reviews daily reports and incident reports.
- Prepares, maintains and/or oversees the preparation & maintenance of various security related documentation (e.g., accident reports; duty rosters; disciplinary actions; security reports; time sheets)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Security Management, Emergency Management, Homeland Security or equivalent military, law enforcement or corporate security experience.
- Three (3) years security experience which demonstrates the ability to apply supervisory principles to practical work situations, and exercise sound judgement under possible stressful circumstances.
- Thorough knowledge of security procedures and systems, safety regulations, contract management, public relations.
- Or equivalent combinations of training and/or experience
- Valid Drivers License issued by the state of residence.
