Starting Salary:
$23.07 hourly, non-exempt
INCLUDES:
Assist evaluators in sending communications to litigants, scheduling evaluation appointments, completing and sending record requests, monitoring completion of record requests, maintaining calendars, and scheduling hearings for the evaluator, as needed.
Work with the other Dispute Resolution Support Specialist to do the following:
Act as the liaison for the Dispute Resolution Department with the judges, magistrates, and attorneys in regard to referrals and procedures. Answer inquiries of litigants and attorneys in person and by telephone for the department. Check-in family members for appointments and assist the public with questions. Review subpoenas and update subpoena log for social workers and counselors. Coordinate with court staff to ensure foreign language interpreters are scheduled and ensure completion of appropriate documents for billing. Assist in scheduling supervised parenting time at the Family Visitation Center. Create monthly reports in Excel format for the Family Visitation Center. Process the registration from walk-in parties or online for the “Parenting Through Transitions” class. Monitor the online parenting class attendance and modify case attendance notifications in CMS. Prepare monthly parenting class statistics for the Court. Prepare booklets, certificates, and evaluation materials for the “Parenting Through Transitions” class. Monitor the collection of fees for all services in the department. Schedule mediations and neutral evaluations for the Director and the Dispute Resolution Specialist; send appointment letters to litigants and attorneys; schedule hearings and send hearing notices to litigants and attorneys. Process immediate drug screens from the judicial officers. Phone calls to attorneys and/or litigants, as necessary. Maintain Excel database of all orders for DRD services.

Assists in reviewing Guardians Ad Litem, mediator, and parenting coordinator applications and annual compliance statements. Scans documents and reports into CMS to create a paperless record of collateral documents. Prepares case folders for the Director. Processes refunds of fees, when services are terminated. Attends training as directed. Maintains the current list of GAL appointment database for the Court.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – 10-15%
Accepts other assignments from the Director of Dispute Resolution Department as requested.

Knowledge of: Applicable procedures and practices of the Court of Domestic Relations; including familiarity with the Court’s Local Rules, personnel policies, and proper courtroom etiquette. Basic computer and office equipment skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Zoom Video Communications.
Ability to: Communicate with attorneys, the general public, employees, and Court officials in an effective and courteous manner. Ability to work under pressure, maintain composure in dealing with potentially difficult litigants, and accept constructive criticism and direction. Must be professional at all times and able to work cooperatively and respectfully with all attorneys, litigants, Court employees, and persons from other courts, agencies, and related departments. Maintain punctual and regular attendance, proper dress, and a positive attitude. Must be detail-oriented.

Must possess a high school diploma from an accredited school with demonstrated ability in workflow management and the ability to work with little direct supervision. Fluency in word processing and data collection in Microsoft Word and Excel. A high level of discretion is required. Previous work experience in a court setting is desired. College degree or completion of college coursework in related fields desired.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work may involve a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening, stooping, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms. Ability to transfer up to 25 pounds. Ability to sit continuously at a computer terminal for periods of up to three hours. Ability to reach into file drawers in standard four-drawer file cabinets. Visual ability sufficient to effectively operate a copier, facsimile machine, and a computer terminal, and to read reports, correspondence, and instructions. Hearing ability sufficient to converse with other individuals, both in person and by telephone.
