North Hamilton County Elementary serves approximately 400 students in Pre-K through 5th grade. Nestled in beautiful Sale Creek, Tennessee, North Hamilton offers academic excellence, where family and community support are both abundant and treasured.
In addition to a rigorous academic program that meets the requirements of the TN Ready State Standards, NHCE offers physical education, guidance, library, music and art classes as a regular part of a student’s schedule. All NHCE staff is highly qualified based on state requirements and are dedicated to the vision and mission of this great school. Our PTA is a strong entity, working tirelessly to promote and support our school. Parents volunteer on a regular basis and some volunteers serve as academic tutors to students who need a little individualized attention. Interventionists work with small groups of students to ensure all children have an opportunity to succeed academically.

Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess effective instruction that is tightly aligned with State standards.
- Designs lessons based on best practices with clear learning targets and measurable goals aligned with State standards and/or unit outcomes. Frequently plans collaboratively with colleagues.
- Conveys high expectations while using multiple effective strategies, materials, and classroom practices that involve and motivate students while differentiating instruction to meet students’ needs.
- Uses colleagues and own self-reflection on instructional practice to continually improve instruction.
- Classroom Management & Relationships: Fosters a well-structured and engaging learning environment by utilizing effective classroom procedures and routines while showing caring, respect, and fairness for all students.
- Family & Community: Consistently develops strong relationships with students’ families while diligently informing parents of expectations, positive news, and/or concerns about their children. Provides opportunities for parents to be involved in their children’s learning.
- Professional Responsibilities: Actively seeks out opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders in order to improve teaching & learning. Reflects on own instruction and leadership while contributing ideas, expertise, and time to the mission and goals of the school.
Qualifications
We are seeking teaching candidates who are:
- Committed to inspiring and engaging students
- Committed to high academic achievement and high expectations for all students
- Able to be a positive team-player and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students, and families
- Open to being coached and receiving feedback in order to advance learning and growth for students
- Experienced in high-need or Title-I School settings. Experience with English Language Learners is a plus.
- Professionals with high personal standards and integrity
Additional details:
- Teaching candidates must hold a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification in Elementary Education (K-5) or be upcoming graduates in an accredited teacher preparation program. If you hold a teaching license in another state, you must apply for a Tennessee teaching license.
- Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree.
Compensation
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
Salary Scale
