To work alongside the Student Security Coordinator and school level administrators to provide a safe and secure campus.
Responsibilities
- Patrol the assigned campus both inside the buildings and the perimeter.
- Be highly visible on campus with a focus on before and after school and at lunch.
- Maintain external security of the buildings.
- Make recommendations to correct identified security issues on campus.
- Observe arrival and departure of students.
- Ensure that no unauthorized individuals gain access to the campus.
- Work with the staff to intervene in situations that can cause disruptions of the learning environment.
- Monitors video surveillance at the school.
- Becomes a part of the school threat assessment team.
- Be available when parents are on campus to prevent disruptions.
- Develops and fosters communication with the patrolling law enforcement agency that serves their school.
- Communicates regularly with the site administration as well as the direct supervisor.
- Is available to interact with parents in an educational setting.
- Completes other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Knowledge/Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to qualify for appropriate licensure or TN POST certification.
- Weapons qualifications at or above established standards.
- Certified in First Aid, CPR and “Stop the Bleed”.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of and ability to use a portable radio.
- Use of basic computer skills.
Compensation:
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
