EMPLOYEES IN THIS POSITION OBSERVE THE DRUG SCREENING PROCESS FOR MALE INDIVIDUALS. Hamilton County follows the Federal Work-place Drug Testing Guidelines. Section 8.1(b) of the Federal Work-place Drug Testing Guidelines requires that the gender of the observer match the donor's gender and the gender of the monitor matches the donor's gender unless the monitor is a medical professional as described in Section 8.12.
BASED ON FEDERAL GUIDELINES, ONLY APPLICANTS OF THE MALE GENDER WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
BILINGUAL PREFERRED POSITION - APPLICANTS WHO ARE ABLE TO READ, WRITE, AND FLUENTLY SPEAK IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH ARE PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED, FOR THIS POSITION.
THIS POSITION IS IN THE MISDEMEANOR, PROBATION COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS PROGRAM.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of responsible duties associated with the compilation of information, conducting of thorough interviews, development of comprehensive reports, presentation of recommendations and monitoring for compliance, individuals sentenced to probation, community corrections or pretrial services as an alternative to or in conjunction with incarceration.

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Management, Behavioral or Social Sciences or a closely related field. A valid driver's license is required.
An Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Management, Behavioral or Social Sciences or a closely related field and two (2) years of direct work experience in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Management, Behavioral or Social Sciences or a closely related field. A valid driver's license is required.
The equivalent of a high school diploma and four (4) years of direct work experience in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Management, Behavioral or Social Sciences or a closely related field. A valid driver's license is required.
SAFETY SENSITIVE :
This position has been identified as "safety sensitive" under the definition of 49 CFR Part 40-Department of Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Policy. This position will be subject to drug and alcohol testing for the following : 1) post offer pre-employment 2) when there is reasonable cause 3) after an on-the-job accident or contributing to an accident 4) on a random basis 5) prior to return to duty after suspension and / or 6) as follow-up. This is additional and also subject to the Rules and Regulations of The Employee Handbook.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
A Bachelor's Degree is required for the Felony program and preferred for all other programs.
Bilingual (English / Spanish) Preferred - Applicants who are proficient in both English and Spanish are preferred, but not required, for this position. A test will be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Physical requirements are the same for all programs.
Work involves the potential for physical harm in dealing with defendants and potential exposure to infectious diseases.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Within three (3) months of date of hire, incumbents must be eligible to receive and must retain all certifications and training mandated by Tennessee statutes, rules, administrative orders and Hamilton County Policies and Procedures.
Incumbents must be able to obtain a driver's license with "F" endorsement or the equivalent from state of residence within three (3) months from date of hire.
