JOB SUMMARY
The pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient and pharmacy records in a manner consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as pharmacy policies and procedures. Pharmacy technician activities are performed under the direct, immediate, and personal supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supporting pharmacological services by assembling, stocking, and distributing medications
- Maintaining records by recording and filing the prescriptions and orders of Physicians
- Sorting, stocking and labeling medications and monitoring inventory
- Responding to the requests of patients and healthcare providers, answering their questions, and referring various inquiries to the Pharmacist.
- Complying with rules, regulations, and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, such as by sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
- Entering prescription, drug order and/or patient information in patient’s electronic profile and ensuring the profile information is accurate.
- Generating revenues by recording, calculating, and issuing charges.
- Undertaking administrative tasks such as record-keeping as assigned by a pharmacist or facility manager from time to time.
- Participating in Hamilton’s efforts related to revenue cycle, which include, but are not limited to, achieving goals for productivity; meeting or exceeding revenue targets; and expense management as budgeted.

- Proficiency with the EPIC Community Connect patient electronic health record system.
- Familiarity with Hamilton’s patient population and communities served.
- Strong understanding of 340B Drug Pricing Program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Two years of experience in a high-volume pharmacy preferred.
