ASSISTANT MANAGER OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Position Overview

The Assistant Manager of Youth Development works to coordinate the LIFT (Local Initiative Fostering Togetherness) Program as well as our Intergenerational program, under the direct supervision of the Manager of Youth Services and Intergenerational Programming.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and training for youth interns
• Assist in conducting outreach to recruit youth and older adults for our intergenerational program
• Assist in facilitating the design and implementation of activities, classes and special projects/events
• Implement schedule of activities and oversee the coordination o9f the after-school program
• Track participant attendance and follow-up regularly for both youth and older adults
• Assist with the onboarding/interviewing of new participants
• Assist with the documentation of programming (photos and videos)
• Maintain a health programmatic environment and set an example of excellent conduct and professionalism
• Serves as a source of mentorship for youth
• Close program/facilities each evening

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in field of Education or related field required
• Minimum two years of involvement in youth development programming
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to relate to youth while also maintaining professional distance
• Experience in working with youth ages 12 to 21 and older adults facilitating workshops
• A self-starter with good organizational and time management skills
• Grounded and flexible
• Experience creating curriculums and putting together lesson plans
