Hours: 8AM - 5PM
Days: Monday - Friday
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for conducting face-to-face interviews with patients to determine eligibility for assistance or government aid related to healthcare. Ability to relay information of varying benefits as related to patients services at Hamilton Medical Center. Facilitates the submission of applications for medical financial assistance. Interacts with federal agencies to aid in determining available services. Ability to relay client responsibilities, rights and program availability. Evaluates consistency and completeness of data and where indicated substantiates its accuracy.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Required High School graduate or GED supplemented with additional training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Licensure: N/A
Experience: Minimum one to two years experience in social public administration, or human services; community outreach preferred, required.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Interviewing techniques such as data collection and investigation.
Professional ethics related to confidentiality.
Proven intermediate proficiency with Word, Excel.
Ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must enjoy working with people & problem solving to ensure a high degree of satisfaction with delivery of services.
Bilingual desired, but not required.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule including some weekends and evenings, if needed.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment working often sitting at a computer screen. Must be able to get around to various departments and building around HHCS. Must be able to work in an often times stressful environment due to high work volumes and deadlines.
