Director of Finance

Essential Functions:
- Serves as finance partner to CFO
- Oversees and assists with the day-to-day operations, including accurate and timely posting of firm receipts, processing of firm operating expenses, client refunds, importing of payroll data, creating GL accounts for new employees, management of detailed GL accounts and 1099 filings.
- Works with the Billing, Accounts Payable and Receivable Department Managers to ensure timely billing, client cost processing and receivable goals.
- Responsibility for staffing of Accounting Department with input from the Department Managers
- Budget preparation for review with CFO
- Financial reporting and analysis, both monthly and ad-hoc
- Bank account management, account transfers, positive pay imports, download of daily wires and bank reconciliations.
- Must be organized, detailed oriented, able to problem solve, have strong leadership skills and be a team player.
- This is a fully on-site position in the firm's main office in downtown Miami
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's/B.A. Degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years financial management experience with firms over 100 employees
- Law firm accounting experience with working knowledge of accounting principles - debit/credits, detailed general ledger management and GAAP and ability to work with software programmers to develop profitability reports and analyze report data.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Legal time and billing software experience, PerfectLaw highly preferred – large firm systems
- Expert Excel skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to lead, influence, and encourage others to excellence
- Sound financial/business decision making skills
