What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at Hamilton Services?
SAFETY MANAGER Reports To:
Officers of All Phase Landscape The Safety Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for All Phase by conducting regular inspections, monitoring Vehicle and Equipment GPS tracking, coordinating First Aid and CPR Training, requesting new driver MVR’s, identifying potential hazards, implementing safety policies, providing worker training, investigating accidents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, all while promoting a culture of safety among all personnel.
Site Inspections:
Conduct routine inspections of the job sites to identify potential hazards like faulty equipment, unsafe working practices, and environmental risks.
Hazard Assessments: Perform risk assessments to evaluate potential hazards and develop preventative measures.
Safety Training: Deliver safety training programs to all workers on site or at the office, covering topics like proper tool usage, fall protection, driver training and emergency procedures. Policy Implementation:
Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures in line with industry standards and regulations.
Incident Investigation Record Keeping: Thoroughly investigate all accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Report to Insurance Co. if needed. Maintain First Aid and AED Records
Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards. AED Compliance Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions.
Communication: Hold monthly Safety meeting with the Safety Committee, Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and workers to address safety concerns and promote open communication.
Emergency Response: Participate in emergency response drills and ensure readiness to handle incidents effectively.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and educate workers
Ability to identify potential hazards and assess risks effectively
Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping abilities Problem-solving skills to address safety concerns and investigate incidents
Leadership qualities to promote a culture of safety on the job site Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour construction safety course)
