What you'll do
The Administrator-In-Training (AIT) will complete the required training in long term care administration, as outlined in the Indiana State Board of Health Facility Administrators regulations, achieving a level of competency in the oversight of all departments within the community. Service oriented, with an awareness of, and a willingness to, utilize the strengths of an interdisciplinary team of associates, volunteers, and families, recognizing the importance of each.
1. Review and become familiar with the responsibility and duties of the preceptor and AIT. The program for an administrator-in-training shall include, but not be limited to:
- Standards of competent practice
- Administration
- Housekeeping/laundry
- Facility management
- Nursing
- Dietary
- Activities
- Business Office
- Admissions/marketing
- Overall facility management
Our ideal candidate
Must hold one of the following educational achievements:
1. A bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited institution and completion of a required administrator-in-training program, or
2. An associate degree in health care from an accredited institution, completion of a specialized course of study in long-term health care administration approved by the board, and completion of a required administrator-in- training program, or
3. Completion of a specialized course of study in long-term health care administrator prescribed by the board and completion of a required administrator-in-training program and has registered and been approved as an AIT, with the Indiana State Board of Health Facility Administrators (ISBHFA).
