Supervisors
The Hamilton Wenham Recreation Department is now accepting applicants for the seasonal position of supervisor(s) for Veterans Memorial Pool at Patton Park. The pool is set to open early to mid-June and run until the end of August. Pre-season responsibilities are also required.
The Pool Supervisors work with the Pool Director, in the day-to-day supervision of lifeguards, park and public swim lessons, maintenance of the pool area, and in-service lifeguard training.
Supervisors will be responsible for the overall supervision of the children and staff swimming in the pool and assisting with swim lessons when not guarding. Supervisors will be familiar with the Aquatic Safety Procedures and need to attend all trainings and meetings prior to the camp season starting and throughout the summer.
Desired Qualifications
· Minimum of 18 years of age.
· One year of supervisory experience or 3 years of aquatic experience necessary
- Current Lifeguard Certification
- Current Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer or American Heart Association Heart Saver CPR
· Water Safety Instructor or YMCA Swim Lesson certification desired
· Ability to work Full Time (35/hr/week) and weekends a plus
Responsibilities
· Supervise Staff, persons using the pool and all pool areas
· Help lead group/private swim lessons for participants of all swimming levels
· Ensure that swimming pool safety and health standards are maintained
· Supervise and coordinate in-service training
· Oversee Gate Staff
· Perform pump room duties including backwash, handling and installation of chemicals as needed
· Perform pool chemistry tests to maintain compliance with the local Board of Health
· Act as lifeguard as needed.
· Perform other duties as needed by the Pool Director
Skills
· Thorough knowledge of lifeguard and rescue techniques, emergency preparation, and lifesaving techniques and first aid.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, participants and the general public
· Mobility and the ability to sit, kneel, stand, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects
· Ability to pass pre-employment physical & rescue skills evaluation
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $19.75 - $21.00 per hour

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
