What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director position at HamiltonDavis Mental Health, Inc?
Medical Director is a licensed physician under Mississippi law appointed to oversee all medical programs and services. The Medical Director is responsible for being on-site and available via telephone as needed; and providing all medical care of clients, ensuring that the program and services are in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws regarding the medical treatment of addiction to an opioid drug.
Requirements:
- Must have a continual commitment of seven(7) days per week, twenty-four (24) hours a day to the program
- For every fifty (50) people enrolled, the Medical Director should be present or ensure that qualified medical personnel are present
- Must complete an annual physical examination for each participant to ensure that they are still eligible to participate in the HamiltonDavis Mental Health, Inc Opioid Treatment Program and Services.
- Must assure that during medication dispensing, a pharmacist is on hand to supervise at each service location
- Must ensure that HamiltonDavis Mental Health, Inc Opioid Treatment Program and Services is regulatory compliant at the local, state, and federal levels related to the medical treatment of opioid addiction
- Determine the appropriate dose of medication based on the individual's needs
- Responsible for administering the program and dispensing medication inventory.
Qualifications
- One year experience
- Be American Society of Addiction Medicine or American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) Certified, or hold a comparable certification approved by DMH
- Hold a DEA License for prescribing opioid medication
- A completed training plan to include appropriate components as determined by DMH
