Position Title: Veterinary Receptionist

Position Overview: As a Receptionist at Hamlin Animal Hospital, you will be a crucial member of our family-oriented team. You will be the welcoming face and voice of our clinic—the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets. Your role is essential in creating a positive and caring experience for every visitor, setting the tone for the exceptional care we provide.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Answering Phones & Scheduling Appointments: Professionally handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and provide accurate information to clients about clinic services.
- Client Check-In & Exam Room Preparation: Greet clients warmly, check pets and their owners into exam rooms, and ensure they are comfortable during their wait.
- Prescription Refill Requests: Receive and process prescription refill requests, ensuring accurate communication with the veterinary team for approval.
- Message and Inquiry Management: Relay client messages and questions to the veterinary staff and DVMs promptly and accurately to ensure clear communication and excellent client service.
- Maintain a Safe & Clean Environment: Help uphold a tidy, sanitary, and safe clinic environment, including waiting areas and exam rooms, to promote a welcoming atmosphere.
- End-of-Day Tasks: Perform closing duties such as balancing the cash register, reconciling the day’s transactions, and preparing the front desk for the next business day.
- Equipment & Environment: Maintain, clean, and ensure readiness of the clinic. Sterilize exam rooms and treatment areas to keep appointments flowing smoothly.
- Communication: Answer phone calls, relay questions or concerns, schedule appointments, take messages, perform call backs to check on patients, and respond to emails as needed.
- Safety and OSHA Compliance: Follow proper safety protocols and adhere to OSHA regulations and standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Commit to learning and advancing your skills. We encourage and support continuous education and professional development in the veterinary field.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital setting preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary software preferred but not required.
- Medical terminology preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills and a teamwork mentality.
- Passionate commitment to animal welfare and customer service.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good multitasking

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Pay: $14-16 (Higher compensation negotiable based on experience)
Expected Hours: 30 – 40 per week
