VP - Risk Data Management

Hamlyn Williams have partnered with a foreign bank, looking to hire a VP - Risk Data Management, to their US Team.

This role sits in the second line, risk data management group, reporting to the Director for Risk Data Management.

As a VP - Risk Data Management, you will:

• Leading a team of between 2-4 individuals at any one time.
• Be responsible for the implementation of BCBS 239, improving operational quality and the execution of data governance.
• Act as Data Steward ensuring best practices are followed, and are aligned with regulatory requirements, policies and guidance.
• Be responsible for the defining, monitoring and maintenance of the Risk Departments data assets, creating inventories of key data elements and outputs.
• Be able to identify data quality issues, and work with stakeholders/ other internal groups to remediate and rectify these issues in a timely manner.

As a VP - Risk Data Management, you will need:

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience within data governance, ideally in banking or financial services, with minimum of 3 years specialized experience experience and a Data Practitioner in Financial Services.
• A Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science or similar. MBA, MS or PhD also encouraged.
• Have prior leadership experience.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence.
• Knowledge of banking data systems (SQL, NoSQL) and Azure is highly beneficial.
• Strong Project Management skills, and the ability to run multiple projects at once.
