Hamlyn Williams has partnered with a foreign bank to find a Risk Engineer to support their Market Risk platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operational activities, including key risk metric assessments, validation checks, regulatory reporting, and issue documentation.
- Work alongside the team lead to drive enhancements in risk infrastructure, including defining business needs, managing testing cycles, and liaising with technology teams.
- Engage with internal and global stakeholders to facilitate reporting sign-offs, resolve inquiries, and streamline risk monitoring processes.
- Support the review and monitoring of VaR, FRTB calculations, and related data integrity checks, ensuring accuracy in regulatory reporting and internal attestations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on ongoing risk infrastructure enhancements, including drafting business requirements, defining test cases, managing UAT cycles, and coordinating with technology teams.
- Assess and refine existing data validation methods, aligning them with broader risk data initiatives.
- Address operational challenges in collaboration with risk specialists, integration teams, and technology partners to develop long-term solutions.
- Periodically review and refine internal guidelines, documentation, and workflow processes.
Required Qualifications
- At least seven years of experience in risk-related functions, with a strong focus on data integrity and governance.
- Ability to think critically and approach complex issues with a structured, solution-oriented mindset.
- Expertise in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools, with an understanding of database structures and query logic.
- Strong communication skills, with experience working across teams, including risk and technology functions.
Salary : $165,000 - $180,000
