What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer Utility Work position at Hammer Construction?
Hiring labor hands with experience in underground utilities (water, storm, and sewer). Trench safety experience required. Valid license and a clean MVR is a plus. Pre-employment drug screen and background check apply with a 90-day probationary period.
It is standard for laborers to perform a variety of duties involving physical labor on a variety of projects. Common duties will include but are not limited to operation of hand and power tools, clean and preparation of job sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, fencing, cleanup of rubble and debris, laying and guiding pipe, loading and unloading, identifying building materials, machinery, and tools, and distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications. Laborers are expected to be able to endure physical demands such as bend, stoop, squat, or stand for a significant period of time, lift at least fifty pounds, climb a ladder, and withstand outside temperature changes.
