As the Assistant Controller you will play a key role in overseeing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will work closely with the Controller and accounting team to manage financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support the budgeting process and provide financial insights to drive strategic decision-making.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Assist with external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Identify areas of eficiency improvements in accoutning operations and implement the best practices.
- Assist with Accounts Receivable and Account Payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoices, collections, and payments.
- Support various accounting functions and take on other job duties as needed to support the finance team.
- Support and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance on complex financial matters.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 5 years of accounting experience required, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Pror experience in public accounting or within a corporate acounting environment a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellen analystical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Detail-oreinted with strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support a team.
- Experience working with external auditors and regulatory compliance teams.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a ocmputer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
