Summary
In coordination with the Operations Manager, the logistics supervisor directly supervises and coordinates the activities of trucking and operating workers while ensuring the products are loaded and transported in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company standards related to cost, quality, and quantity specifications.
Responsibilities
- Assists Operation Manager in planning and establishing work schedules, and goals
- Oversees and schedules all truck drivers and loader operators
- Assists Shop in vehicle maintenance and scheduling repairs
- Implements vehicle tracking, maintenance, and quality control systems.
- Manages site operations and confers with technical or administrative staff to resolve trucking or related problems.
- Collaborates with Store Managers & Sales to resolve customer issues involving delivery and delivered materials.
- Collaborates with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
- Inspects trucks and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Monitors equipment and ensures regular and unexpected maintenance
- Helps to hire, train, and evaluate staff.
- Enforces safety and sanitation regulations.
- Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of trucks and loaders including maintenance.
- Knowledge of the geographical area served for safe and efficient delivering of good and services.
- Excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- General knowledge and use of available computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and other relevant technologies and software applications.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Excellent oral, written, and human relations skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with strategic partners.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and move the business unit forward from both individual employee and overall organization perspectives.
- Ability to work an irregular work schedule in unpredictable weather conditions.

*Hours listed are seasonally dependent, more hours in the Spring and Summer with less hours in with Fall and Winter.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 65 per week
