Ground Hand

Hammons Construction LLC is a small local Aerial Fiber Optics Communications company that builds the fiber optic lines you see on the telephone poles. Please check us out on Facebook to get a better idea of what we do (The foreman is the one in the basket). This is a physical labor job that is OUTDOORS in ALL the elements (rain, snow, heat, cold). You may be required to cut down sticker bushes and other shrubbery that has thorns. You will also be required to lift heavy objects at times (up to but not limited to 50 lbs.), and must have a valid driver’s license. You may have a chance to climb poles or be in the bucket if you have the gumption to. Having a flagging certification is a plus but not necessary, and must be able to pass a drug test if asked. We are looking to expand out team with 1 to 2 ground hands that will be assisting/supporting the foreman. This position is full-time. We will be starting work in the Rural Eugene area as well as in Sweethome, but we are not limited to this area. We have done work all over Oregon, so you must be ok with traveling. For this reason we require you to have a drivers license and reliable transportation. We try to work 4 days a week at 10 hour days, sometimes we do 5 days (overtime available after 40 hours). We also do emergency work as well as night work at times, so be aware that schedules are subject to change. There is also opportunity to travel the Pacific Northwest depending on where contracts are landed. There is opportunity to grow with the business and we will train the right person. When traveling (which is rare) you are eligible for a daily per diem on top of hourly pay. We are looking for people to start as soon as possible and want to set up working interviews to make sure you are up for this kind of work and fit in with the crew. Pay starts at 18$ per hour with zero experience with a quickly rising rate if you show potential in learning and growing. We value our employees very much, and do our best to show that!
