Key Responsibilities
- Removal and Installation: Safely remove damaged auto glass (windshields, side windows, rear windows) and install replacements using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Glass Repair: Assess damaged glass and determine whether repair (e.g., chip repair) is feasible and safe. Perform repairs using specialized resins and tools.
- Sealing and Waterproofing: Apply sealants and adhesives to ensure a watertight and secure installation of auto glass.
- Calibration: Calibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features that may be affected by windshield replacement, using specialized equipment. You will be trained for this.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers professionally, explain repair or replacement processes, and address any concerns.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to prevent injuries.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of auto glass, tools, and supplies, ensuring availability for jobs.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Making extra efforts to clean up customer cars and keep company vehicles clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in auto glass removal, installation, and repair techniques. Knowledge of ADAS calibration procedures. We will train the right person. Some Automotive skills are helpful.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift and maneuver heavy glass, work in various positions, and stand for extended periods.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose glass damage, identify solutions, and adapt to unexpected challenges. We have a strong team that works together to solve customer issues.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and co-workers effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensure precise and safe installations.
- Safety Conscious: Commitment to following safety procedures and using PPE.
- Valid Driver's License: Required for driving company vehicles and customer vehicles.
Work Environment
- Auto Glass Shop: Work primarily indoors in a shop environment.
- Mobile Service: May travel to customer locations to perform on-site repairs or replacements.
- Physical Demands: Lifting, bending, kneeling, and working with tools and equipment. The warehouse can be hot or cold depending on weather conditions.
