JOB DESCRIPTION

The Executive Pastry Chef of a Hampton Chocolate Factory store is responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operation of their respective store’s kitchen in partnership with the General Manager. The Executive Pastry Chef will go through extensive training with the General Manager of their respective store. Our training is structured so that you build a strong product-knowledge foundation, gains the skills to be able to train the team, and learns to handle many different situations that may arise within our kitchen.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


Leadership:

- Acting in a responsible manner that promotes the culture, values, and mission of Hampton Chocolate Factory.

- Setting the example for the team by maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality.

- Directing the team to ensure proper training and updating them as needed on any changes.

- Ensuring all team members uphold Hampton Chocolate Factory’s standards of product quality.

- Training new team members on their respective stations in the kitchen during their orientation, onboarding, and training period.

- Communicating effectively with other leaders, including the General Manager and other leads.

- Building a strong, cohesive team that enjoys working together by fostering an environment that promotes growth, accountability, and a humanized leadership approach.

- Promoting a team-oriented atmosphere and getting to know team members on a personal level.

- Recognizing and praising team members for both small and large victories, ensuring a positive and motivating work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

- Having thorough knowledge of all disciplines to be able to fill in for any employee when necessary. These disciplines include:

- Chocolate tempering

- Topping production (cookie dough, cookie crumbles, hazelnut sauce, and specialty items)

- Handcrafting Desserts

- Prep work and ingredient handling

- New Menu Development

- Understanding the daily production requirements and ensuring all items are prepared to meet demand.

- Maintaining an efficient pace for prepping and packaging while ensuring accuracy and presentation align with Hampton Chocolate Factory's premium brand standards.

- Communicating with the shift leads and dessert artisans throughout the day to adjust production quantities as needed.

- Managing and ensuring timely execution of all special orders and custom menu items, including but not limited to: Dipped Strawberries, Chocolate Truffles, and dessert displays.

- Assisting the General Manager in guiding the team on prioritizing kitchen tasks and maintaining focus.

- Maintaining strict adherence to Hampton Chocolate Factory’s standards for:

- Chocolate consistency

- Portion of Desserts

- Flavor quality

- Freshness of components

- Visual aesthetics and presentation

- Conducting opening and closing procedures, including inventory checks, to ensure all production targets are met.

- Alerting the General Manager immediately of any inconsistencies in raw materials, product quality, or kitchen processes.

- Coordinating with the shift leads to maintain the quality and consistency of all prep ingredients.

- Ensuring kitchen cleanliness by holding team members accountable for proper organization and sanitation of workstations, refrigerators, and storage areas.

- Monitoring product freshness and rotation (FIFO method) for all ingredients, including chocolates, toppings, and packaging materials.

- Assisting with inventory management as requested by the General Manager.

- Ability to work long shifts in a standing position (up to 10 hours).

- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 30 pounds.

- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

- Fluency in reading and communicating in English.

- Other related responsibilities as assigned.
