- Position Summary: The Veterans Services Specialist II provides intermediate-level case management and benefits application support to veterans and their dependents. The position supports secure, compliant processing of VA claims through SCDVA-approved systems and ensures veterans receive timely and accurate service. This role directly contributes to maintaining Hampton County’s compliance with emerging standards under H3510 and H3563.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct veteran intake interviews and assist in preparing claims.
- Use VetPro platform for digital form submission (training provided by SCDVA).
- Track case outcomes in accordance with performance and accreditation standards.
- Help veterans connect to additional services such as healthcare, housing, and burial benefits.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling, follow-ups, and referrals.
- Maintain compliance with federal data protection standards and participate in ongoing SCDVA training.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: ? High school diploma or equivalent. ? 1–2 years administrative, case management, or veteran support experience. ? Must complete SCDVA accreditation training Preferred Qualifications: ? Knowledge of VBMS and/or PIV access protocols. ? Experience using VetPro or other claims software. Skills & Abilities: ? Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential records. ? Competency with digital tools and public service communications.
