Job purpose
Under supervision from the golf professional, provides technical and managerial supervision of facilities and staff as outlined. To assist in the promoting of golf activities by organizing daily play and tournaments.
Duties and responsibilities
- To carry out opening and closing procedures following standard operating procedures for till reconciliation, site security, etc.
- To collect fees and process payments in line with Club procedures, including shop purchases and greens fees.
- To assist in organizing and running tournaments, and other events, to help make them a success in line with Club policy.
- To organize and control play ensuring members and guests receive the best service and enjoyment during their day.
- To perform basic club repairs and custom fitting to the standard required to generate maximum customer satisfaction.
- To organize and control the practice facilities ensuring that members and guests are able to practice according to the guidelines in place by The Club, The Head Golf Professional, and Director of Golf.
- To organize and control the hire of all relevant equipment rentals.
- Oversee and maintain accurate daily financial management and sales records.
- To offer the opportunity for members or any prospective clients or guests of The Club to play in a variety of formats, at The Club and/or in tournament play.
- Manage and maintain an accurate account of golfer Handicaps.
- Maintain Hole-in-one service standards as identified in the Golf Manual.
- Perform any requested administrative duties.
- Organize, monitor, and maintain and adequate level of Golf shop operational supplies.
- Operate within the guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as established by Hampton Golf.
- Participate in member golf activities with and provide golf instruction to members and guests.
- Maintain membership within the PGA of America.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Graduation from High School or equivalent plus one (1) year experience working in a golf shop under a class "A" professional. College/University course work in Recreation, Physical Education, Business Management, Finance, or Accounting may be substituted for up to six (6) months experience working in a golf shop.
- Valid Drivers License
Working conditions
Work is primarily indoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or being exposed to flying golf balls.

Physical requirements
Good organizational and verbal skills. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitors and develops subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas, write and read member communication.
Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs., up to 30 lbs. frequently. Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting.
Please be advised that all work that requires the use of a ladder more than 8 ft. long must be reviewed by Hampton Golf’s Club Maintenance person. Following his assessment of the situation, he will determine if he or subcontractors will perform the necessary maintenance task. No other staff member is authorized to climb to heights exceeding 8 ft. and or perform such maintenance. In addition, personnel are prohibited from entering facility attics, walking on the roof of buildings, and/or prohibited from using scaffolding.
