Northland Country Club is hiring seasonal team members for Golf Outside Operations staff. We are seeking passionate and self-aware individuals who will use their talents in the areas of golf and hospitality to connect with our members and guests to enhance the golf experience. Pay: $11.13 to $13 an hour depending on experience
Northland Country Club was founded in1899 by a prominent Duluth businessman. Northland Country Club is one of the five oldest country clubs in Minnesota. Donald Ross was hired by the club in 1923 and laid out a championship golf course that has hosted two prestigious Western Amateurs and a U.S Women's Open. The club plays host to the annual Northland Men's Invitational, one of the oldest amateur match play events in the Midwest, the 99th edition of which will be conducted in 2024. Featuring dramatic vistas of Lake Superior and over 400 feet of elevation change, the course has been featured in Golf Digests Top 100 Classic U.S. courses and regularly appears in Best in State rankings.
Job Purpose:
The Outside Operations Team Member is responsible for promoting the game of golf and being a brand ambassador for Northland Country Club. They will assist in many facets of the outside services operations including greeting and welcoming members and guests, managing bag room and range operations, as well as the cart fleet. Outside Operations Team Members are also invited to work with Northland’s Caddie Program. Team members are given priority when it comes to caddie assignments to allow for flexibility within your schedule
Duties and responsibilities:
- Spread hospitality and goodwill among all members, guests, and fellow team members.
- Welcome all members and guests to the golf course and around the club; anticipate and assist in their daily needs.
- Understand the entire operation thoroughly:
- Northland Country Club rules and regulations
- Golf Operation's policies and procedures
- Assist with all roles of the golf department as needed (Range Attendant, Welcome Podium Attendant, Bag Room Attendant and Cart Management)
- Keep the bag room, cart barn and practice facilities neat and clean at all times.
- Organize Club Storage.
- Clean, detail and maintain Cart Fleet.
- Prepare clubs for daily play.
- Maintain a well-stocked and organized Practice Facility.
- Team Members are encouraged to practice and play. Goal is to play with 30 members each season.
- Role Model for Team Members.
- Active role in managing Daily Outside Operations
- Operate within all guidelines, policies, standards and constraints as established by Hampton Golf.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be at least Age 16, valid Drivers License
- Must be self-motivated
- Must have a positive and willing to learn attitude
- Reliable and predictable attendance.
- Ability to physically lift and/or carry 50 lbs or more
- Ability to understand and follow safety protocols and procedures
