Job Purpose
The Café Barista Lead is responsible for providing exceptional service to members and guests by preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and food in a welcoming environment. In addition to crafting perfect drinks, the Barista Lead will oversee and guide a team of Café Attendants, ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining high standards of service. This role combines the art of coffee-making with leadership to create an extraordinary café experience for all visitors of the Club.
Duties and responsibilities
- Greet members and guests warmly, providing personalized service and cultivating strong relationships.
- Oversee daily operations of the café, ensuring exceptional service and the highest quality coffee and food.
- Set work schedules for a small team of Cafe Attendants, ensuring appropriate coverage and a smooth flow of operations.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu and ingredients used in preparation.
- Ensure the food and beverage is made correctly and consistently in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventories by replenishing and restocking coffee bean supply, brewing equipment and pastries for the coffee bar.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized workspace.
- Follow health and safety guidelines for food handling and preparation.
- Complete opening and closing procedures as outlined in the F&B Manual.
- Acknowledges members and guests, politely thanks the Members and Guests upon departure.
- Ring up retail items for the adjoining tennis shop and assist with any related transactions, ensuring smooth and effiecient service.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a country club setting
- Ability to use point of sale system
- Excellent customer service skills with friendly and professional demeanor
- Flexibility to work days, evening, weekends, and holidays as needed
