General Definition of Work
The Hampton Hall Club Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day -to- day clubhouse repairs and general maintenance for equipment, furniture, masonry, and building structures to maintain club property in optical condition and appearance. This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities, Maintenance and Common Grounds.
Essential Functions
The following functions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.
- Troubleshoot equipment using proper tools in a skilled craftsman-like manner.
- Perform assignments as directed by the Engineering Supervisor and Director of Engineering.
- Assume the duties of other mechanics when required, including light carpentry, plumbing, grounds maintenance, electrical, painting, pool and spa maintenance, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Has knowledge of Hampton Hall’s company policies
- Repair all malfunctioning mechanic devices.
- Respond to building repairs regarding carpentry, electrical, plumbing, carpeting, and painting.
- Respond to guest room calls and assists guests with room issues.
- Train to become proficient in specific area (electrical, plumbing painting, carpentry, etc.) to become a specialist in a skill is a prerequisite for promotion.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General Maintenance experience strongly preferred
- Certification from Technical Maintenance Trade School preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and various property specific software applications
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one-year job related maintenance experience or engineering
- Minimum of two years’ experience in customer service
- Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write and understand English
Physical Requirements
This work requires the regular exertion of up to 100 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force and occasional exertion of more than 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently walking, speaking or hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing and tasting or smelling; work requires close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly of fabrication of parts within arms- length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to outdoor weather conditions, frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles and occasionally requires working in high, precarious places, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to the risk of electrical shock and exposure to vibration; work is generally in a loud noise location (e.g. heavy traffic, large earth-moving equipment).
